‘Changing your culture’

Colin Mulberg was commissioned to share his initial reflections on AIM’s ‘Fragile to Flourishing’ research and linked resources. This major study looks at how museums and heritage organisations operate, their resilience and new ways of facing an unclear future.

The research and case studies suggest a fundamental reset for many venues, with traditional museum models increasingly difficult to sustain and no longer fit for purpose.

Colin explores a main thread running through the work - the need for many organisations to change their culture. They will have to become more commercial, outward looking and innovative, while encouraging creative risk and embracing change to meet the uncertainty on the horizon.
